This is the home stretch. Best to read the earlier chapters so you can understand what has happened. As always, everyone in the story is 18 years of age or older. The mystery of what the eggs are and who hid them is revealed. This is a short chapter that wraps up the why and the who.

“Leon! Leon!” a woman in a long flowing green dress entered her small home. “Where is that silly rabbit?” She ran her hand through her long purple locks as she slipped out of her shoes and into bedroom shoes. “Ah, that feels better.” She went to the back porch. “Leon!” A three foot tall rabbit loped into view. “Yes Mistress.” He bowed before the Sorceress he served. “I thought I asked you to take that basket of eggs to the egg hunt today. “I did Mistress. I even hid them.” he said proudly. “Follow me Leon.” She motioned as she led him back into the kitchen. “What is that?” Leon twitched his nose and crinkled his ears. “It is a basket of eggs, Mistress.” She put her hand to her forehead. “Yes. It is the basket of eggs I told you to take to the egg hunt.” “Oh, but I took the other basket of eggs,” he said proudly. She patted his head. “Oh you silly rabbit.”

Leon had thought he was doing good for his Mistress. He had taken a basket of eggs, but it was the wrong basket. He had found the basket that she had made for a special party. The eggs were dosed with reality magic. For those of the Magical Arts, it would be like taking a short trip into another life. For normal humans, well, the results would be random and tailored to the whims of fate. She picked up the basket of eggs and headed to the egg hunt. If she used a teleportation spell she should just make it in time for the orphans to have a nice treat this Easter. “Leon, please go and gather what eggs you can find please. I do hope you remember where they are as I am dreading having to use more magic to replace any that have been found.”

“Sir, that was Sadie.” The young man said as he nervously stood by Mr. Smith. “She reported that some eggs got mistakenly out into the wild.” Mr. Smith motioned to the large screen that took up the wall before them. “I take it that those eggs would be the source of the multiple reality altering events and transformations that keep appearing on the map?” The young man gulped. “Yes Sir. It seems her familiar accidentally took eggs meant for the Spring Equinox Party and hid them instead of taking them to the orphanage. She has dispatched him to retrieve the eggs he can find.” He waved the underling away. After looking at the bright blips on the map, he turned and headed to his office that sat above the monitoring station floor. He made it up the stairs as his Assistant Patty came scurrying down the hallway. He motioned her to follow him in. Once he was settled in a chair near one of the windows that looked out upon the floor he nodded he was ready to hear Patty’s report. “So I understand you have been told it was Sadie who is responsible for the magical outbreak. We have isolated all but one of the reality changes. It may be that it has not fully changed reality yet.” she said. “We got very lucky Sir. It seems most of the changes were not harmful. The people changed seem to be in happy realities, some even in a better life than the one they were living. One couple will be blessed with many children. Sadie said she would send a charm to their wedding to limit the number and to make sure they would have prosperity. I have dispatched a team to the police station. It seems a magical transforming set of tattoos have been attached to the people there. They will get the standard intro to magic and all that we require of them.” He sighed. “I do wish Sadie would not do these parties of hers.” “Have you ever been to one Sir?” Patty asked. “I have not, have you?” “Oh yes Sir. I have been to several. They are wonderful fun.” He closed his eyes in thought.

“Maybe I will attend this one. It will give me a chance to talk with Sadie in a less formal way.” Patty smiled, “Ofcourse Sir.” “Before I leave Sir, may I say, Leon is not a bad Rabbit, her familiar. He was cursed by a demon and if not for Sadie he would probably be dead. Leon used to be in your position. He was fighting a demon and got cursed. Sadie performed a spell and saved him, but she couldn’t counteract the curse completely.” Patty paused with a look of sadness, “Leon lost some IQ. He…..well, we were close.” He nodded. He had heard that the man that used to have this job watching over the magical beings of this region had been removed because of suffering a curse. He did not know that he was now a Rabbit living with a powerful Sorceress. “How close Patty?” he asked silently. “He was my fiance,” she replied.

I know it was short. There is one more chapter. It has the karma aspect of the story. I do hope you enjoy the final chapter that should be posted just minutes after this one.
