Paula doesn’t want to move in with Lori and her girlfriend, but when she gets tired her resistance ebbs.

"Whatever it is, it'll have to wait," Paula grumbled wearily as she came out of the restaurant to see Lori waiting for her in the parking lot. "I just finished my second double in three days and my fourth this week, okay? I'm a fucking zombie, man, I am dead on my fucking feet. Whatever you want to tell me about apartments in Quincy or whatever it was is just going to have to wait until...." Paula trailed off into silence, blinking owlishly as she tried to picture her schedule in the sludgy excuse for a brain she had left after sixteen hours on her feet and found to her dismay that she couldn't remember the next stretch of actual free time she had coming.

"Actually this is the perfect time," Lori interrupted, taking Paula firmly by the arm and walking her in the direction of her beat-up old Hyundai. "You're punchy, you're exhausted, and maybe that means you won't put up quite as much of a fuss when I sit you down and tell you it's time to stop pummeling yourself to death trying to afford a place of your own. How many hours a week do you work, Paula? Eighty? Ninety? This isn't sustainable. You need a roommate, maybe even a couple of roommates, and Tess and I are more than happy to share a place with you. Our lease is coming up, we've got some friends who can pull a few strings over at that new place on South Street, you'd still have your own bedroom--"

Paula waved away the arguments like she was trying to brush off a pesky fly. "I already told you, I don't want roommates, I don't want to--" She broke off as a sudden swell of dizziness left her swaying on her feet, clutching her taller friend for support and giving the lie to her protestations of self-sufficiency. It was the exact wrong time for her exhaustion to overwhelm her, and she did her level best to fight the treacherous little pulse of gratitude she felt as Lori held her upright without any visible evidence of exertion on her part.

"Okay, that's it," Lori said firmly, scooping Paula off her feet and plopping her down in the passenger seat of the battered old car despite Paula's feeble protests. "You're in absolutely no shape to drive, your brain is fucking mush, and I'm not about to let you get behind the wheel of a motor vehicle without at least six hours of sleep under your belt. You are coming back to our place, you are going to take a nice long nap--on the couch or in the bed, your choice--and while I drive you home we are going to have a real talk about why you feel like you need to be the big tough girl who doesn't need help from anybody."

She buckled Paula in, and it felt subtly infantilizing to be treated as so thoroughly incapable of even the simplest tasks... but at the same time, Paula could feel herself blushing as a faint, inchoate sense of comfort settled into the back of her head at exactly that kind of treatment. Despite her best efforts to hide it, from herself as much as from Lori, she had to admit that a tiny part of her liked being taken care of by a woman who stood a full eighteen inches taller than her and could quite possibly bench press her.

Which was exactly why she didn't want to get used to it, even if she did stay put as Lori went around to the other side of the car and started them on their way back to the apartment she shared with her girlfriend Tess. The two of them shared something of an... Amazonian build, Paula euphemized, and even though neither one of them had managed to parlay their college basketball career into anything professional it had given them both a free ride through college on their way to their own therapy practice. They were intimidatingly smart as well as strong, and Paula couldn't help suspecting she was bound to feel a little bit diminished in that kind of dynamic.

As the car ride was already proving. "Honey, you really need to stop pretending you can do it all by yourself," Lori cooed sympathetically, giving the smaller woman a gentle pat on the knee. "I mean, just look at you. Your head is wobbling like an old doll, you can't open your eyelids more than about halfway, and I doubt you even remember the start of this conversation by this point. Believe me when I say you need someone to help you shoulder the load before you just slump down and fall asleep in the middle of a shift."

Paula bristled, irritation momentarily clearing away some of the cobwebs in her head and forcing her to straighten up in her seat. "Oh come on, I'm not that--" Embarrassingly, she broke off mid-sentence in a wide and irresistible yawn, one so blatantly obvious she knew there was no way on earth she was hiding it from Lori. Her blush got a little bit brighter as she covered her mouth just a few fractions of a second too late to muffle the yawping intake of breath.

Sure enough, Lori chuckled and gave her an affectionately condescending pat on the head. "Sure you are, shortstack," she murmured, her voice dripping with playfully patronizing sarcasm. "Look, we're really not bad roommates, I promise. We do our share of the dishes and we don't hog the bathroom, and I promise you won't catch us having sex on the living room couch or anything. Why are you so determined to live on your own that you're practically turning yourself into a zombie rather than get a couple of nice lesbians as roommates?"

From anyone else, that would have sounded like an accusation of homophobia, but Paula knew that Lori knew better--they first met when Paula was dating one of Tess's exes, and bonded over the spectacular implosion of that relationship. There was absolutely no question of Paula's queer credentials here. But that meant Lori was expecting a different answer, and Paula's tongue tied itself up in knots trying to find one that didn't admit more than she intended about her overprotective friends.

Because that was just it--she knew they would take care of her, decisively and expertly if Paula was being honest. They'd make sure she got to bed on time, cook her delicious healthy meals and keep her from overscheduling herself, break her habit of doomscrolling on social media and find her a nice relaxing hobby to fill the free time she would gain from not having to work every waking moment to keep her rent and bills paid. Hell, for all Paula knew they might even manage to cajole her into going back to school and finishing her degree, something her own parents couldn't manage. They would cheerfully and lovingly manage Paula's whole life....

And she wanted that. Probably too much. The thought of settling into a placid, docile existence as the domesticated third partner in a lesbian throuple held a dreadful fascination for Paula, to the point where she knew if she gave in to it she'd never find the willpower to escape. Lori and Tess were sweet and kind and thoughtful, but they were also confidently overbearing and seemingly oblivious to their own tendency to manipulate people for their own good--and it didn't exactly help the situation that they were also strong and sexy and intimidatingly intelligent. Paula knew she'd fall right into the groove they laid down for her... and she suspected it would only be a matter of weeks before that included joining them in their bed to sleep between them like a human teddy bear. It felt kind of dangerous to accept that much control over her life, but--

"Hey sleepyhead," Lori called out gently, cutting into Paula's train of thought. "I haven't lost you, have I? You had a thousand-yard stare there for a few seconds, looked like you were dozing off in your seat. Not that I don't want you to get some good rest, or anything, we both know you're very tired and you need to sleep, but why don't you answer the question first and then you can close those tired eyes and doze off for a little while?" It honestly didn't feel like a question, or even a suggestion. It felt like an order. And Lori was very good at giving orders.

Paula wished she wasn't quite so good at taking them, but her brain had turned to mush and her eyelids felt like they couldn't stay open and arguing felt too much like work. "I, it just, um, it kind of feels like I'd wind up being the, the... submissive one?" she mumbled, trying to find another word that didn't have such overtly sexual connotations and utterly failing to dredge one up from the sleep-deprived slurry that was left of her mind. 'Like, you and Tess are such, um, strong personalities, and I...."

"And you're weak," Lori cut in, her tone neutral but her voice firm. "Is that what you're worried about, sweetie? Is that why you feel like you have to be such a big strong girl, because deep down you think you're weak and helpless and Tess and I would be too strong for you if we were always around to tell you what to do?" Paula nodded, grateful to finally have all her fears out in the open. They sounded foolish when Lori described them, the silly worries of a deeply silly girl, and she felt herself sag into an almost comically relieved slump now that they were off her chest.

"Oh, sweetie," Lori chuckled, returning her hand to Paula's leg a crucial few inches higher. "If you were that weak and submissive and suggestible, we wouldn't need to wait until you were such a sleepy girl before we had this conversation, would we? We'd just get you alone, pat you on that pretty head of yours, and say, 'No more arguments, cutie pie. It's time to stop fighting, be a good girl, and move in with us,' and you'd be so meek and helpless you wouldn't be able to say anything but yes. You'd just do as you were told, because there's no point in arguing with two strong, powerful women when you're so small and soft and delicate."

Paula blinked heavily, trying to parse out where the hypothetical part of that statement ended and the actual, actionable discussion began, but it was just so hard. The sun had gone down, and between the motion of the car and the soothing darkness Paula found her eyelids simply didn't want to stay open any longer. "I guess so," she mumbled, trying to show that she was still an active participant in the conversation despite the sleep-drunk slur in her voice.

"Of course I'm right," Lori purred, somehow managing to take Paula's vague and non-committal statement and turn it into simpering deference. "It's only when you're all dreamy and drowsy like this that your willpower fades and falters, and you wind up answering all my questions with yes like a good girl. Isn't that right, princess?" Her fingers slid up a little further, pushing Paula's skirt up almost to her waist, but somehow it was the use of the term 'princess' that Paula's mind fully collapse into helpless acquiescence. She let out a sleepy sigh, the only outward sign of her surrender, but of course Lori noticed.

"Are you going to come home and get in bed with Tess and I, sweetie?" Lori asked, and only one answer remained in Paula's sluggish brain. Her head slumped forward onto her chest, too heavy to raise again, and she heard herself murmur a response in a drowsy and thoughtless monotone.

"Yes, ma'am."

"And are you going to listen and do as you're told from now on, instead of pretending you're too big and tough to ask for help?" Lori's hand was fully resting on Paula's pubic mound now, her fingers rubbing Paula's pussy through her panties, but that wasn't what was making her wet. It was the air of calm, confident dominance Lori exuded with every word.

"Yes, ma'am."

"And are you going to be our sleepy little girl again, whenever we tell you?" That penetrated even the thick fog clouding Paula's drowsy mind, making her understand at last just what was happening to her, but by then she was so weary and defeated that she couldn't even remember why she was trying to fight anymore. It just felt easier to sink deeper and obey.

"Yes, ma'am."

"And are you going to quit that second job and move in with us so you can sleep, sleep, sleep whenever your empty little head gets all tired and drowsy and dumb?" Paula let out a soft, whimpery sigh as drool began to trickle down her chin to soak the front of her shirt. She didn't stand a chance of resisting anymore. Maybe she never did.

"Yes, ma'am."

Lori rubbed a little harder. "Good girl. Cum and sleep." Paula had no idea how readily her body would respond to the command until she heard it, but within seconds she was thrashing against the seat belt as her whole body shook with relentless ecstasy. The climax felt like it went on forever, taking the last little vestiges of Paula's willpower with it, and when it finally ended she slumped in boneless lethargy and her mind slipped away. But she still heard Lori's voice in her ears as they drove, warm and comforting and sensually strong, and she knew she was soaking up every last word of her new owner's suggestions.
