Puppy Playtime
by MadameFlechette
You get a calendar notification on your phone. You forget what it says the second after you read it. Your head hurts; lying down seems like a good idea. In a daze, you make your way to the bedroom. You barely register your clothes hitting the ground. Your headache seems to be getting worse by the second. Instead of crawling into bed, you go to your...closet? Since when have you had a closet? You paw the door open, head throbbing. Through your swimming vision, you can just about make out some shelves and a...rug? Your feet sink into the soft, cushioned surface as you close the door behind you. With the overhead lights shut away, you dimly realize that the space is lit only by a single source; a motion activated light, stuck to the back of the door, washing your surroundings in purple light. Somewhere, far away, you remember seeing an identical lamp in your amazon "keep shopping for" section. It didn't make sense to you then. Nothing makes sense to you now. You feel, rather than see, your fingertips brush smooth leather, grasping, twisting, lifting. You can barely keep your legs under you. You blink; it's so hard to keep your eyes open. They widen slightly as you feel leather embrace your head, your face, the world rimmed by leather eyeholes. The smell hits your nose like a knife sliding between your ribs. Your knees hit the padded, cushioned floor. So soft. Dogs don't walk on two feet. Your hand reaches, muscles remembering what you cannot, grasping, pawing at something on the shelf. You feel leather and canvas slide over your skin, the click as you move them off the shelf. Your left paw-of course you have paws; you've always had paws-hits something as you bring yourself to rest on hands and knees. There's a click, a whirring, like a computer booting up. Your brain snaps back into awareness as you realize that's exactly what it was.
"Puppy." Owner says. Her voice is so nice. "I need you to remember and forget.”
Ohhhh, she remembers now! Now it’s Puppy Time, which makes so much sense! She’s a puppy, after all! Somewhere, vaguely, she was aware that it wasn’t Puppy Time all the time, but her thoughts glided over the concept like a stone skipping on water. But now it’s Puppy Time, and everything is great! She knows what happens now! She just needs to watch the pretty lights and listen to Owner’s voice while she gets herself comfy. This just happens every so often, to make sure she’s the very bestest Puppy she can be! First Owner talks about remembering that it’s Puppy Time, and that Puppy Time is the bestest time! After that it’s different every time, but normally Owner spends some time talking about how the clickies make Puppy feel so good and how Puppy has the very cutest ears and tail and paws! Sometimes Owner will say something and Puppy gets all hot, and then…well, Puppy doesn’t remember, but it always ends with Owner telling Puppy how good she is as she cuddles her plushies, although her puppy parts always end up wet and sticky afterwards. At least, she thinks so. Owner’s words are SO nice, they make Puppy’s head all fuzzy and empty! Then after a while Puppy drifts off to sleep, the pretty lights filling the room with gently pulsing purple light, Owner’s voice filling up her silly little puppy brain.
This story is broadly influenced by "Subroutine" by Kallidora Rho, one of the absolutely seminal works in the "hypnotized to forget the kink gear under your bed and/or kinky alter ego" genre
Great story, thank you for sharing it! But I can’t seem to find subroutine… 😕
