The Glasses

Your friend has asked you to stress test their new app for augmented reality glasses. It is unfortunately prone to bugs…

You turn over the unassuming glasses in your hand. Sleek, modern, lightweight, with a thin black frame and clear, glass-like lens. Not just twenty minutes ago, they were thrust into your hands by your friend, who had called you about an hour ago for an urgent favor.

"I'm working on a new app and I really, really need a stress tester! There's a few audiovisual bugs I haven't exactly worked out; I'll give you $20 a week, just come back every Saturday and report anything weird!"

Without even waiting for your reply, they had thrust the glasses into your hand, pushed you out of their musky, cold basement warmed only by the ambient heat of several computers working in perfect tandem, out the front door and locked it shut. Now here you were, glasses in hand and out in the uncharacteristically warm fall afternoon. You let out a small sigh, thinking about how impulsive and frenetic they tended to be. Despite their erratic personality, they were your best friend since childhood, and there was nothing for you to really lose by going along with it.

Well, here we go.

You slide the glasses onto your face; although you feel a slight weight depress on the bridge of your nose, once they're on you hardly notice they're there. The glasses, having detected their stress tester, automatically boot up and begin scrolling words overlaid on your surroundings.

"AR NAVIGATOR V0.0.4. WELCOME, USER."

After this, a crudely cropped picture of your friend appears, their beaming face decorating the bottom left of your lens.

"Thanks so much for testing this, friend! Remember, come back every Saturday and I'll pay you for your work!"

Once this bootup sequence ends, the app's features begin proper. Automatically detecting your surroundings, it recognizes and identifies objects and locations near you and allows you to access brief descriptions detailing their purpose and function. It also appears to come with a satnav system that can automatically plot directions by simply giving it voice directions. Everything feels easy to use and intuitive.

Only a few minutes after using the glasses, your vision suddenly explodes with light in a flash. Instinctively, you try to shut your eyes as fast as you can, but even after it fades you can still feel the light burning the back of your eyeballs. Your head pounds and you feel a slight bit nauseous, likely due to the flash's intensity. That's one for the bug report.

The glasses safely chart a way back to your house. While totally unnecessary, you felt like it was a safe way to test the satnav. As you approach your old, rickety front door, you start to realize that some of the objects in your view are... mislabeled. Well, that's not quite right. It's like they're not being recognized. The text seems to be glitching fast, and the colors look weird, almost pink-ish. You think you can make out a few real words in between the glitching, but nothing that registers in your head. You give the frame a tap or two, and as if it had recognized your gesture, the augmented interface disappears for a moment. When you blink once more, everything seems to be back in order, like nothing was ever wrong.

Hm, I guess this another one of those bugs that got mentioned. I'll bring it up.

It's been a few weeks since you received the glasses. You've made a small bit of pocket money, and in exchange your friend has continuously tweaked and improved the overlay app. At this point, you've gotten used to using it in your everyday life. Your coworkers have complemented the new look, and even some people at your regular stops have hit on you enough to make you blush just thinking about it.

The amount of noticeable bugs have decreased. You still see the odd glitching here and there, but for some reason it doesn't worry you as much as it used to. It's fine, it's still in beta. Bugs are expected.

Wait, what?

Vertigo overtakes you for a split second. Your mind spins, as if there was a brief moment where you lost control. Before you know it, the sensation stops, and everything's back to normal... probably. You see another glitch in the corner of your vision, and like clockwork you give the frame a few more annoyed taps. The glitch clears... you think? You can't notice it anymore, but you still feel like something's wrong. There's a nagging in the back of your mind that won't go away, filled with urgency, but at the same time you keep pushing it away. Bugs are normal. You won't notice them in time.

I'll take it to my friend on the weekend. They'll know what to do.

You find yourself so engrossed in the glasses that the sound of the washing machine finishing its cycle startles you out of your chair. Stopping yourself from nearly falling over, you get up and empty its contents into the drying machine, before peeling off what you're already wearing. Ever since you started living by yourself, you felt the freedom to strip off your outerwear and stick to just undergarments, but for the past month or so it's been getting a little difficult to justify even that since your undergarments are soaked. Just an hour or two at home and they're just dripping with fluids.

Hmm... Hold on, that's not right, is it?

You try to think about when this started happening, but it's so hard to think. The farther back you try to go, the fuzzier your memory gets. Nothing seems to come to mind. It's like there's a void inside your head. Never mind. It's not worth worrying about. You throw your undergarments, flooded with your sexual juices, into the wash, and return to your room to grab a new set. The crisp air flowing in through your window against your bare skin feels liberating, and you involuntarily let out a small moan as the cool breeze brushes against your crotch. In the corner of your vision, you see another glitch. They're so annoying. What's the point of making them go away if they're just gonna keep coming back?

The overwhelming, stifling warmth of the sofa slowly rouses you awake. It's been pretty boring just staying at home since your manager put you on forced sick leave since last week.

"Hey, you okay?" they said as they sheepishly approached your desk. "You look very feverish, and the way you've been breathing concerns me. And your clothes..." They scanned you up and down, barely hiding their second-hand embarrassment. "They're... distracting. I think I don't have a choice but to send you home for a while."

You turn over in the chair, still mulling over what they said. You didn't notice anything wrong yourself, but... thinking's hard. It's so hard to think. You don't want to think. The past few weeks have been a blur. Like clockwork, you've been visiting your friend, and every week they've sent you home with an updated pair of glasses. The glitches have all but disappeared at this point... probably. It's hard to tell because everything looks like a glitch. Colors spinning and burning inside your head, indecipherable words echoing throughout your skull.

That's... normal, right?

You feel dizzy. You sit up straight in your chair and turn on the TV, trying to flip through the channels to see if there's anything interesting just to take your mind off things. You're not sick, right? Sure, you've been feeling unusually hot for this weather, but...

The sound of the drying machine finishing up brings you to your senses. Opening it, you pull out the clothes you've been wearing recently: a set of thin, light fabrics, very loosely fitting. It's been hard to wear anything else for a while now since you stopped wearing undergarments. Your sexual juices and precum just soak and soak and soak and they just dirty them so often that it's gotten quite frustrating to do the wash. You don't need them anyway. What's the point if they're just going to get dirty all the time? You slip on the freshly washed clothes, and they immediately begin to absorb your sweat and other fluids that you've been leaking for the past half hour. You expected the fabric to chafe your nipples when you stopped wearing undergarments, but on the contrary, they feel incredibly stimulating against your rock-hard nipples, to the point where you almost expected yourself to cum the moment you put them on. A giggle escapes your lips, and the glasses...

Hey, you've been wearing them the whole time, haven't you?

The presence of the glasses on your face becomes immediately noticeable in your consciousness. Now that you think about it, you've been stress testing these for a while, right? You've gotten so used to wearing them that it's hard to remember when you put them on and when you take them off. In fact, it feels like they've just been on forever at this point.

You try to dig deep into your memory. Nothing appears. It's all a blank. Everything's a blur. It's not worth thinking about it. Thinking's hard. Give up.

You relent. The voice inside your head is too strong. You feel like you're losing your memory, and it's getting harder and harder to recall anything that happened lately. There's nothing you need to remember, after all.

A flash of indecipherable words and swirl of colors invades your vision for a second. Reflexively, your arm begins to lift to tap the frame... and stops. Was that a glitch?

... No. That's expected behavior.

It's been another week since you've been put on sick leave. Your memory is very blurry now, so much so that even events that happened hours ago are difficult to recall. Was this supposed to happen? Probably.

You turn to the mirror on your left. It's the dead of night, but the nightlight next to your bed dimly illuminates the panel. You see yourself standing there, fully nude. You see precum streaking across the floor, dripping profusely from your privates. Sweat drips from your body, heavy breathing permeating the otherwise silent room. Scanning upwards, your vision meets the reflection of your face in the mirror. A vacant gaze stares back at you, saliva leaking from the corner of your lips and onto your chest, down the center of your body and onto your privates, where it mingles seamlessly with your precum. That's... your face, right? It's almost unrecognizable, but the blissfully unaware look in your eyes, enraptured by pleasure and obedience seems to be yours. Just then, something catches your attention...

The glasses. They're still there, even while you were asleep. Should you be wearing glasses while sleeping? Hard to tell, at this point.

It's only now that you notice something peculiar with them. Have they... gotten harder to see out of? You see the overlay, but it's pretty difficult to see through them specifically. Your reflection is getting harder and harder to see as the realization dawns on you. Are the glitches back? No, no, no. You need these glasses. They make you feel whole. Saturday is still a few days away, but something in your mind tells you that you can't wait that long. You need to see your friend. They'll know what to do.

You pick up your phone, and your friend's number is already on the screen. Did you call them recently? It's so hard to recall. Brushing the thought past your mind, you punch the "Call" button. It rings just once before you hear the call pick up. On the other end is certainly a voice you recognize as your friend's, but something about it... feels different.

"I see the app is working. You called me just like I said you would."

You called them already? When was that? Where? You can't remember. Remembering is so hard.

"I assume there's an urgent problem? You can come now, if you'd like."

Their voice sends sparks of electricity through your body. You suddenly realize that you've never noticed it before, but their voice is incredibly alluring. How could you ever resist it? They can fix the glasses. You need to see them now. Wordlessly, you hang up and quickly throw on the nearest set of clothes before bolting out the door and through the streets. The chill air of the night barely registers in your mind as you race around the blocks.

It's not long until you're at their doorstep, satnav guiding you the whole way thanks to your vision being slowly obscured. With great haste, you fumble through the key ring in your pocket and thrust the spare key through the front door, which opens with a click. As you shut the door behind you, something flashes through your vision, although you can't tell what. A thought burns through your defenses and reaches the front of your mind.

You've been here so often that this place is like your second home, right? Home is a safe place, so you don't need to wear anything.

Of course, every thought that enters your mind makes perfect sense. No point questioning it. You quickly strip down and leave your clothes, still dripping with your sexual fluids, at the door. Something nags at the back of your mind, but it's nothing to worry about. The corridor is dark, but you can see the dim glow of the computers coming from the basement at the right side. You sidle down the stairs and see your friend standing there, tablet in hand, as if expecting you.

"Welcome. You look incredible tonight."

Some part of you feels like you should reply, but your mouth invariably stays shut tight. You shouldn't reply unless they want you to.

They mumble something wordlessly that you can't make out while they fiddle with their tablet. Absentmindedly, they speak out.

"So, enjoying the glasses? Very cool, right?"

You voice your confirmation enthusiastically. Almost robotically, in fact. Your own voice catches you off guard a little, the way it droned emotionlessly, but you swiftly push it away from your thoughts. The glasses are incredible. They make you feel whole. It feels like you can't live without them.

"Good. You're very sweet, you know that?" They let out a quiet, almost inaudible laugh.

You continue to stand at attention, but pleasure briefly courses through your brain, causing your crotch to shiver in anticipation. What an incredible reward, being praised by them.

"I'm very sorry about this. But you know I've always loved you, right? I just... wanted you in my own way. I didn't know how. We've known each other for so long, but I... No, I can't yet. I'll explain later. It's time for you to sleep. I'm so sorry."

Your friend turns to their tablet and gives it a few taps. At that moment, something dawns on you, like a feeling of awakening. An overwhelming sense of clarity overtakes your mind. They loved you? What do they mean? Was that the point of this? You can barely get your thoughts in order before-

"POWERING OFF."

Your mind goes white. Electricity surges throughout your entire body as your limbs convulse violently. Hot streams of cum spray out like a geyser as fluids splash all over your legs and onto the dark floor, like you've just gotten your first release in years. You can feel yourself choking a little as ecstasy overwhelms your body, your head arching backwards and face contorting in ways you never thought possible as your throat is filled with saliva. An inhuman sound escapes your throat, a mixture of fear, pleasure and curiosity. For a brief moment, nothing feels like it makes sense, and it doesn't need to. Everything disappears for that brief second.

Just as the ecstasy begins to subside, your vision flashes. The glasses. You remember that you're still wearing them. A voice in the back of your head, louder than ever before, is screaming at you to take them off. But you can't. Something indecipherable appears. Vivid colors dance across your vision. And then-

"AR NAVIGATOR V0.9.53 MARIONETTER SUBROUTINE V1.0.0. GOODNIGHT, DOLL."

Everything goes black.
