This idea originally spawned from the 3rd chapter, and I wanted to write it down before I fell asleep. But, of course, that one wouldn't work quite as well on its own, so of course I needed to add more sections, and then one thing led to another, and I ended up finishing this at 6 AM. While already suffering from a mild fever. My sleep schedule shattered again. Not that I regret this story though, it was pretty fun to write! Low level Enemy vs High level Hero (and vice versa) is a trope I LOVE in hypnosis. The inherent power dynamics it provides, coupled with the tropes and strange quirks of the universe found in video games or TTRPGs, make for a lot of very interesting scenarios. I've decided to break this one into chapters instead of just being one big story, since it's already formatted that way anyway.

Tandi's eyes fluttered open. She yawned softly as she stood up, her movements still a bit sluggish. She really needed to stop falling asleep on the job. What was she doing in this alleyway again…? Oh, right, she was waiting for someone to pass by! Someone with a nice, vulnerable neck and some money to spare for a poor little tabaxi rogue. And today was certainly the day to find them, what with the Grand Bazaar in town. All she had to do was stand here in the shadows, and wait…

The sun was so bright today. Of course, it usually was bright out here in the desert, but it felt extra bright today. Maybe it was all the people here for the Grand Bazaar, wearing all their shiny clothes and jewelry, reflecting the sunlight and making everything so bright… They were just asking to be robbed, really. At least it was dark in the alley. The alley was at a perfect angle to grab an unsuspecting merchant before they even saw her. It was admittedly difficult for her to see who she was targeting, but that didn’t tend to be a problem. She was pretty good at getting out of scraps, so grabbing the wrong person wasn’t usually an issue. But she shouldn’t focus on that now. Someone was rounding the bend, and she was about to get her prize…

Tandi swiftly stepped behind her target, and within a second her dagger was around their neck. “Don’t move a muscle. Just give me your coin purse, and you’ll be fine.” The tiefling woman sighed, a soft, silky sound. Her voice was even silkier. “I suppose it was too much to hope that nobody would bother me this time.” Tandi grinned. “You get asked for your coin a lot, hm?” The tiefling groaned. “Yes… Every time I go into civilization, someone tries to rob me… I suppose I just look so vulnerable… Even now.” Tandi leaned in closer. “Don’t worry, you can tell anyone else that you already gave away your coin purse~. A simple solution.” The tiefling chuckled. “They’d still go after me anyway. Besides, I have a simpler solution. Drop~.” Tandi suddenly found her senses overwhelmed by a surge of powerful, terrifying, beautiful sensation. Blinding silver and pink light swirled before her eyes, a roaring wind sang her the loveliest song she had ever heard, the scent of pure flowers was almost sickening in its intensity, her tongue was covered in the sweetest fruit she had ever tasted, and the warmth of a calm spring day burned through her entire being. She hardly realized what was happening until she felt the tiefling's gentle hand on her chin, lifting her gaze up to meet her own swirling pink eyes. “…preddy…” Tandi murmured blissfully, dimly aware of the ground pressing on her knees. The tiefling laughed sweetly. “Yes, pretty. I’m very pretty… Hmm, maybe that’s why I get targeted so much…”

The tiefling gently stroked Tandi's head as she smiled down at her. “You really fell hard, didn’t you? I knew the Ancient Tree's Core made me stronger, but… Wow, you are just completely out of it. Can you even think?” Tandi nodded blissfully. “…Think you’re preety… Glowy… Smell good…” The tiefling shook her head, laughing. “I'm sure I do, sweetie. Heh, I wonder if this is what I looked like when Mistress Revlis first spoke to me. She said I was so blissy and adorably mindless.” The tiefling suddenly stopped stroking Tandi, making her whimper. “Hmm… You know, I am so much more powerful now… Certainly powerful enough to completely overwhelm a mortal with a single word… Just like Mistress Revlis… And we did discuss needing someone else…” The tiefling laughed. “Ooh, that really sounds like a great idea!” She bent down and grabbed Tandi's cheeks. “Hey, sweetie… Do you wanna pledge your soul to Mistress Serenity and become a Warlock?”

Tandi blissfully nodded as Mistress Serenity offered her the only thing she could possibly have ever wanted in her entire life. Mistress Serenity smiled sweetly. “Aww, of course you do! Now… How do I do this…? Let’s see… First Mistress Revlis took me in her hands, got that part…” Tandi swam in hypnotized bliss as her lovely Mistress's muttering filled her mind and melted all her thoughts. “…I don’t have wings, but I do have a tail…” Mistress Serenity gently wrapped her tail around Tandi's arms. “…Don’t know the exact incantations, but I’m sure I can improvise… And then… Oh, yeah, of course!” She leaned down until their noses were touching. “Kiss me, and pledge your soul to Mistress Serenity… And by extension Mistress Revlis… And become a glimmering petal of the Feywild!” Mistress Serenity kissed Tandi, and Tandi could feel herself being filled with bliss. But not just the emotion, no, it was more than that… A power, a force of pure bliss, from before she had ever existed, filling her entire being, reshaping her soul, tying her inexorably to the wonderful magic of the Feywild…

Mistress Serenity helped Tandi to her feet. “So, how do you feel, my new little Warlock?” Tandi made a bunch of incoherent blissful noises in response. “Yeah, makes sense. I know it took me a while to think after Mistress Revlis made me hers. But you have magic now! …I think. Assuming I did it right… You know, let’s test it. Warlock!” Tandi stood attentively, if unsteadily. “Just focus your magic on… That stone right there! Try and… Move it!” Tandi obeyed, and tried to focus all her magic on the stone. But it was so hard to focus on anything except the bliss right now… It was starting to look more shimmery… But then again so was everything else… Everything was pretty, and shimmery, and blissful… Tandi giggled sleepily as she tried to move the rock. It looked so shiny now! Mistress Serenity eventually sighed. “Well, I suppose you haven’t gotten the hang of it yet. Or I messed something up… Oh well, we can fix that later. Come follow me back to your new home, Warlock!” Tandi happily followed Mistress Serenity, her unsteady gait quickly leading to her tripping. Mistress Serenity sighed. “Of course… Alright, I’ll let you sleep this off. I’ll see if Dracia can come pick you up. Have blissful dreams, little warlock. Sleep~” And Tandi was quickly plunged into a deep, blissful sleep…

I wanted to leave implications of the party's various high-level escapades, and in Serenity's case she absorbed the primal power of an ancient tree. She was already the best hypnotist of the party by far, being an archfey warlock, but the core really supercharged her.
