“Come see Kade Hantick live! Prepare to have your mind blown–literally and figuratively–by her hypnotic power!”

The advertisement was a bit on the nose, but it wasn’t bad. All Kade could hope for was that it would be enough. After all, Allie, the most beautiful woman she knew, would finally get to be her assistant like she had always dreamed of.

Kade gathered her things, the simpler things like a pocket watch, as well as some… black magical items she wasn’t technically allowed to have. Magical laws and all that. Kade hopped in her car and drove herself and Allie to the venue.

The venue was decent, but not particularly special. Kade led Allie into the dressing rooms, where she definitely didn’t get distracted by the beauty of the woman in front of her. Suddenly, a security officer burst into the room.

“Miss Hantick! A man in purple and red asked to see you! Says he’s with-”

A man behind him interrupted. “Agent Williams, CSIS Magic Division. We’ve received a call claiming that you have been illegally using magical items and equipment without a license.”
